The Scholar Team is the final step for students at Cedar Ridge Elementary. This team consists of fourth and fifth grade students, and is expected by teachers Tyler Simmons, Lonna Franklin-Eaton, and Rachael Mazzocco to remember to bring the right books to the classroom, so when it comes time for middle school, they are better prepared.

       Along with switching around to different classrooms throughout the day, the students are also put in classes with other students who meet at their academic level. "This isn't only based on testing, but also on student personality," said Simmons. "We want to make sure the teacher-student connection is there in order for them to learn more efficiently."

       The Scholar Team prides itself on getting along well, as this is important for the flexibility of the curriculum. All of the teachers agree that the new program has been beneficial for everyone.
